DeepCool AK620 High-Performance CPU Cooler

Current power supply is 700 watts.

ASRock Z790 Pro RS Intel LGA 1700 ATX Motherboard  DDR5

I am looking at getting a new power supply.  The one I have seems adequate for my current build.  I want to get a power supply with a CPU capacity for 2X8 pin plugs on the motherboard.  I am looking at something with room for growth but I don't need anything extravagant.  I just need opinions on how many watts and a stable brand.

Everything will be purchased at microcenter so I will be buying the additional warranty just out of convenience.

Thank You.

I have been looking at pictures on line.  Can I just get a compatible cable and fill up the second 8 pin cpu connection on the motherboard?

Be VERY...VERY careful putting in random aftermarket cables to a PSU. It must be exactly for that model...the EXACT model. If you use the wrong cable, you could fry your whole system.

I always recommend Seasonic at the top of any list. They've been in the business since the 70's. Other brands buy a lot of their parts from them and repackage (EVGA comes to mind). I've never had a Seasonic fail. I've seen multiple Corsairs fail (1-2 years old, 750W Platinums). Anecdotal sure, but anyone will tell you Seasonic are one of the best in the business.

Super high quality parts, fantastic long warranties, super clean power... all providing a stable and long lasting system. Their FOCUS and Prime line of PSU's are the most popular. I'd recommend 750W-850W GX or PX models for your build. You'll have the thing for 10+ years and multiple builds.

You fanboy. You're getting paid by Seasonic to post this?

Seasonic is just a small manufacturer and had major issues with some platforms the past 6 years. And they lie about the temperature rating. Only Prime TX-1300 and TX-1600 have a real 50 degree rating. All other units are rated for 40 degrees at full load.

Seasonic was the OEM for Asus, Corsair, EVGA and NZXT but lost them. Those brands switched to better and more flexible OEMs like CWT and FSP.

You don't need to fill the second 8 pin btw.

It's optional incase you want to send stupidly high watts through the cpu on a massive overclock.

Just leave it empty.

When you say everything will be purchased at Microcenter, you only mean the PSU?  You already have the rest?

Or are you buying the entire list at MC?
