Linux VA-API GPU support needed

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Manjaro strips patent encumbered codecs from Mesa which includes H264.

Your Options

  • recompile mesa with the codecs enabled
  • pull in a third party community repo, https://nonfree.eu/
  • use flatpak
  • or switch to a distro that ships these codecs.

Hello,

I've been trying to get sunshine working on Manjaro, and I got it working with software encoding, but I really want to get the hardware encoding working. Also I am using wayland. The problem I've found atm is that there are no proper VA-API profiles in the driver. Normally I should be seeing h264 and other things when I use vainfo from libva-utils, but I don't for some reason.

Has anyone had any experience with this or am I alone with this problem?
