Hey All, thank you for taking the time to look at my post.

I'm experiencing some issues with my pc which just randomly started.

It's a windows 10 pc.

It started with my computer just freezing up with the screen going mostly black with red and blue where stuff on the screen would be and general when I'm playing games like Rust or Counter Strike. The map/items in the game would be where the red and blue would be. It's now turned into my computer BSODing when I'm just watching youtube etc. I'm not really to sure how to diagnose/troubleshoot this kind of issue.

From memory from of the bsod errors were something along the lines of

System Exception (NFTS.sys)

Something about trying to access read only memory

and something about something not being less than or equal

Once it starts, my computer is just rebooting over and over saying that stuff is corrupted etc

At one point, I loaded into my BIOS and the bottom half was all glitched out, almost the same way as it did when I played games.

I'm really not too sure what the issue could be or how to troubleshoot this, if anyone could help me it would be really appreciated. I use my computer for work so I'm in a bit of panic to get it resolved before tomorrow...

Thank you!

I have 16GB of RAM,

An RTX 3060

A 650w PSU

M.2 1TB

I7-10700F

Hello, welcome to the forum.

First, regarding the BSOD please read this:

It can help you to get more information about the specific error you are encountering, which even if you don't understand it might help people here figure stuff out.

My first thoughts:

  • From your description of the errors and behaviour it could be memory related. To check this, if you have two sticks of RAM in your system (2x8 GB I would assume) you can remove one and see whether the problem persists. Then check the other one.
  • You might even want to check all the slots one by one with a single stick of RAM in the system, as it might be that the traces/connector on the motherboard is broken or the memory controller for one of the channels is bad.
  • Otherwise, you can run Memtest86 to check for errors. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memtest86
  • You can use a tool like crystaldiskinfo to check the health of your SSD

Otherwise, without more detailed information it is hard to recommend much more than swapping parts for known good ones to see if you can isolate it that way. I know this is frustrating, but we need detailed and specific information on error messages to have a chance at helping. So please try to be as specific as possible (take photos or write down the exact error message etc.).
