Advice for my computer

hello,  here are my specs. I'm putting in a rtx 2070 super in this build too. Is there anything wrong with this build. Please let me know even if it's minor

If you're actually running a single 32Gb ram module, you're missing out on performance.  Looks fine otherwise.

Is this a prebuilt?

 

Looks fine except for the RAM.  1x32GB is unacceptable.  2x16GB is the way to use dual channel RAM properly.

 

Is the thermal paste being applied?  I am reading this as a prebuilt, but thermal paste is already on the CPU Cooler, so you don't need any extra.

Looks good(minus above point) if you havent bought the CPU got for a 5600 non x if the price is good.

Important: RAM should be two 16GB modules. Buying separate thermal paste for a stock cooler will be pointless.

 

Picky: The 5500 has relevant drawbacks from the 5600, so observe pricing on both carefully. Motherboard could be better (MSI Pro / Gaming Plus).

You are 100% sure that it's just the ram? (It has thermal paste) I'm kind of desperate as I ordered a custom pc and apparently it's PSU is insufficient and that there will flat shutdowns and bsod. I can still change the order a bit to fix it

RAM and thermal paste.

 

PSU is fine, plenty of power and Corsair CXM is a good one even if it's Bronze.

What does this mean?  

 

Please explain.  Did you buy a previous PC and this is a replacement?

 

Why  didn't you just buy a new PSU, if there will be issues?  Who told you the PSU is insufficient?

 

I am not following your thought process here.  If you can change the order, change the RAM.   Don't be ashamed, just fix it.

I'll change the ram, pc specialist, heard of em? There is a forum and some well known community member who gives very good advice and they very experienced. They said the PSU will bring the whole system down causing bsod and flat line shutdowns which I take very seriously. They have also mentioned that the case, cooler (dunno which one) and drives are not "up for the job". And you guys are telling otherwise and trust both, I'm very conflicted and not sure who to listen too. I did so much research and some ltt before I ordered the custom pc. (I can still edit the order before they dispatch it)

Just change it? You say you still can. I mean this is legit a up to 50% performance loss + in game stuttering being a given.

Well yeah if the case is the full glass front one then yes it's bad airflow wise and should be changed.

 

Psu is fine. It's a pretty decent unit from a couple years ago will run a 2080ti no sweat.

 

Cooler is meh. No point in thermal paste it won't help a bit. A budget tower cooler will easily improve thermals and noise heaps. However the stock cooler is fine temp wise.

Depends on the game. For example battlefield 5 had a 45% performance loss when going single vs dual on a 5600x and stuttered so badly it was not playable.

 

If you have the option to start correctly then why not start correctly directly?

No, the PSU is fine.  It's a great unit.   

 

Fix RAM, don't pay for thermal paste, and ignore the PSU.

Pc specialist the company I bought from, is building the custom pc for me. I'm only putting in the GPU cuz they had outrageous prices and not the ones I wanted. I watched many GPU tutorials, and I'm very comfortable with that.

Are you in the UK?  I see pounds.  Need to know where to shop.

 

For 800 pounds, without a GPU, you have a really decent amount of money to play with.
