Problem with removing heat

Hey.

I have my computer and my server in a different room than my office (just on the other side of the wall) to remove heat and sound from my office but the small room that my server and PC is in keeps getting so hot that my PC is throtteling.

Any recommendations on how to remove the heat? I have a 100x100m ventilation duct out but I cant seem to find a fan or something that I can put there. Just opening the duct did not help.

Yeah that server room is going to choke without intake and exhaust.

Is the door to the server room always closed?

My idea is two fold introduce some ventilation to the door if it has none, you can make this look quite good just a cutout to allow the exhuast fan to pull cooler air from outside the room and cover with a strechy item of clothing and paint or something like the pic below.

I would then get a decent exhaust fan like an AC Infinity which has temp and humidity controlers so the exhaust will only kick in when the temp gets too high(or hummidity)

Other than that you can always go for Air Con

100x100m

Did you mean 100mm? 😉 that's an oddball size. You should look for a very strong 120mm fan from Delta or another company. A bit of the airflow will be cut off but that's OK, especially if you get one that is thicker than 25mm. Perhaps 30-38mm thick.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

I looked at those kind of fans but i kinda need something with a socket as everything (in my country at least) has to be installed by a electrician if it doesnt have a socket.. 😞

If you need a fan with a socket, you'll either need to search for that kind, or modify a PC fan.

So is it 100mm?

I would just buy the fan and hire an electrican to wire it for you if you want to be 100% safe. Its not hard same wiring as a light switch, i done it myself a few times. (though i did blow one fan up)

Some of the Fans i bought like the AC Infinity come with UK plugs wired already so you should check with the seller but the ones that didnt i cut the end off the power supply/monitor cable and just wired it into the unit and plugged the other end into a socket it works.

The problem imo if you just set the 4 inch duct to exhaust or intake then the air inside the room has either no where to go and will continue to heat up or if you set it to exhaust then the room isnt getting sufficent fresh/ambient air.

(i dont know what electrical wiring systems look like in other countries apart from UK)

As a note, if you're planning on rewiring it, make sure it's an AC fan. Otherwise, if it's a DC fan, you'd have to have something to convert it to AC as well as changing the plug.

Yes its 100mm.. Ive been looking at a fan that does 95 cubic meters/hour. Do you think thats enough? Its a room that is 3 square feet 2.2 meters tall.

Maybe. What barriers are there in the duct and its ends? What is the fan's static pressure? Max RPM?
