Sony Xperia won't stop alerting me about Wifi

Hi All, I've got a Sony Xperia ST25i running Android 2.3.7. Everytime my phone comes within range of a locked wifi connection, it makes a really annoying alert and tells me that there's a locked network. When I click on the notification it comes up with the message 'Locked wireless network available'. I can't find out how to turn it off anywhere in the settings. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm not sure wheather I just can't see it or it's an issue that is hard to solve.

Sorry, can't edit it, on mobile. The notification says 'locked wifi in range' and when clicked on it takes me to BT payed subscription wifi service website.

you can go to your wifi settings and disable the show available connections or something like that, then it wont notify you every time you go near a connection

What about disabling Wifi, that will also spare your battery
