Hello! my rx 6600 fighter has just arrived and after installing it in my pc and putting the hdmi cable in the gpu,my pc booted but there was no display.when i connected the hdmi back to the igpu everything worked fine but the gpu wont appear in task manager,device manager or amd software.the fans only spin for a few seconds at startup and the never again. as i am writing this i feel the gpu has become extremely hot to the touch but the fans still arent spinning,i have a ryzen 5 4600g with an a520m hdv and a rm850e psu,i have tried reseating the gpu 4 times,2 different psu cables and clearing the cmos battery but nothing has worked. please help me and sorry for my bad english

update on gpu temp,now it burns when i touch it

Sounds like the GPU may be DOA.

 

Make sure you've connected all external power connectors and your PSU is up to the task, though the RX6600 should use very little power.

 

If possible, check the GPU in another machine, to rule out a defect of the motherboard.

 

Go into the BIOS and make sure GPU is set to something like auto-select and not fixed to use the iGPU.

Test the different PCIE ports on your motherboard and try switching PSU cables to another PCIE cable if you have one, if you are using cable extensions try removing them and using the stock cables. Also Powercolor has this mute fan thingy and it means the fans won't turn on if the GPU is under 60c. Try reseating the GPU, plugging the PSU cables back in and making sure they are FULLY plugged in. Try using different HDMI ports on the card or try using the DP port (if it has one).

Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).
