So yeah, ive got a broken fan blade on my MSI GTX 680 PE OC (Lightning). I found it at the bottom of my case one day when it was removed. Pretty sure the case hit it but come on, ive had a few cards in my days and have never had an issue of a fan blade breaking off. So how do i go about fixing this? Glue? RMA? Is it even RMAable? Ive only had it for a few months and it would suck to have to buy a new card in a few more months due to a dead fan because of the vibration beiung produced.

Also, im not willing to break off another fan blade to balance the weight so please dont suggest it!! Thanks guys.

Check to see if your warranty covers it. I had the same issue with my GTX 580 from Palit a while ago, but it wasn't covered. If it's not covered glue the fan blade back on to the best of your abilities, and it should be fine after that. Just remember not to run it without the blade as the vibration can degrade the fan bearing quickly and destroy the HDD.

My problem is kinda close but different. I had a x1300 pro back in the day and the heatsink melted YES it melted and it only got to like 60-70oc but half was like a oreo dipped in tea and the rest was a mushy mess on the bottem of the case

I would RMA it instead of trying to fix it yourself and having the chance of screwing it up.

Thats what im thinking. The MSI website doesnt really explain a whole lot on whats coverd and what isnt so i suppose i should submit an RMA and hope for the best.
