On my build, I originally wanted to get the AMD Ryzen 7 7700x and pair it with the Noctua NH-D15 for cooling it down. However I was reading online that they're not compatible. Is this true?

This is not true. I use my NH-D15 with my 7700x    You will need to use the AM4 mounting bracket that come with the NH-D15. Using the grey motherboard standoffs, not the white.
