7900xtx Choice

I'm thinking on buying this 7900xtx;

Since its the cheapest i've found of the 7900xtx cards. Looking at the different cards they seems to be pretty much the same all  of them. Except some max out at 2615, other at 2525. Which to me isen't that important.

But all the others I've seen on the retailers side card of this kind have a coreclock of 1900, while this card is 1500. I do not now where the reatilers have that number from as I could not find coreclock on Asrocks site.

 

I guess the question is do anyone know if this is a good 7900xtx or one to stay away from?

Just checked Newegg and Amazon for that card, couldn't find those numbers anywhere, just the ~2600MHz frequency numbers that you find on the ASRock site. Can you include a screenshot where you see them?

 

From what I've seen, it's a very average card. Nothing super special, but it performs how you'd expect and with it being the cheapest is usually worth getting.

The only one to stay away from is early batch reference cards since there's potentially some out in the wild that still have the defective vapor chamber.

 

Otherwise, the Asrock has been doing really good lately, I think they're worth the price. They're recovering as a quality brand in some spheres and I think the way they're doing it is by being the cheapest option to get market share, but that's just my speculation. All of these recent generation cards are so massive and overkill that its less likely to be an argument of X card vs Y card because of the cooler, so if it fits, let it sit.

Just noticed that there are a few at core clock 1500. Also the prices are all over they place. Some sells 6950 cars for prices that are way above the 7900xtx.

I saw a MSI 6950XT go for nearly 18000Nkr, while 7900xtx are around 115->17000.

Yeah, I do not think I should put to much into what they cost on how good they perform.

Yeah, I do not think I should put to much into what they cost on how good they perform.

Ouch those prices, in the US, that Asrock 7900 XTX is $960 USD. 

 

What are the 7900 XT prices like out of curiosity? The same model but as a 7900 XT are $790 USD as an example.

 

If not, then that Asrock 7900 XTX is at least markedly lower than the latter, for not much if not any loss in performance/cooling.

It's more than likely just the base clock, which the card should never really be at. I wouldn't pay much attention to it, just the boost clock.

Do notice, if I understand it right. You don't pay VAT on the cards over in the US. here we do as we buy them. thats 25% on top of the base price(and its included in the price, we do not pay the VAT for it afterwards)
