I have a, Intel Core I5-13400F 10 Core process 2.50-4.60ghz. 20mb cache. 32 GB running in dual channel of DDR5/5200mhz Corsair Vengeance ram, the MSI Pro B760M-P mother board. 1tb WD black M.2 NVMe SSD. and a 750W Corsair RM750e power supply.

wow! That is a very nice system! 馃檪聽 Love the PSU, I ONLY use the RM series from Corsair in all my builds, great quality. I use an RM750i myself.
DDR5 actually runs in quad channel even with 2 sticks as each dimm has 2 channels, not that it make any difference, thats just how it works.
a 4070ti would actually work quite well in this system.聽 Go with the 4070 or 4070ti, that would be such a good PC with either of these cards.聽

Hello, I am currently building a new rig and just wanted to ask a question. I currently have the choice between an MSI Geforce RTX 4070 12GB card or a MSI Geforce RTX 4060 TI 16GB card. Which one would be better for 1440p gaming on competitive games. I am leaning towards the 4060 but just want some expert advice.

EDIT: I can also get the MSI Geforce RTX 4070 TI 12GB

The MSI Geforce RTX 4070 is faster than the 4060ti 16GB, even with its lower VRAM.
As you edited the list. If you can get a RTX 4070 TI then do so, its the fastest card out all 3 mentioned, and a lot faster than the 4060ti, thats for sure.
I am very happy with my own MSI 4080, absolutely love this card.
What is your system specs?

I see you have quite a range of selection. Being able to choose between 4060-4070TI is quite a luxury! haha

Anyway, 4070 seems like a great card which is approx 40-50% (heavily depends on the game) better than 4060, but about double to cost.

It's up to you to decide what you want to do! I don't really recommend 4070TI and 4060TI 16GB.

I use am RM750i with my 7700x and highly overclocked RTX 4080 and I draw a max of 500w under load.
The 4070ti only draws 285w and the 13400F draws a max of 150w so that 435w if your CPU and GPU are under 100% load all the time, basically never happens when gaming.聽 Fans use around 2-6w each and RAM use 3-5w per 8GB.
750w is more than enough for this system, you should see a toal power draw of 470-480w if everything is being pushed 100%.

The RM750e is also a very reliable and quality PSU that will deliver clean power 馃檪

You can get the 850e if you want but there is no need.

If you are aiming for 4k 60hz then the 4070ti will perform very well in most games. Techspot ( Youtube Hardware Unboxed ) have an article where they tested the card. In a 16 game average the 4070ti managed an average of 87fps at 4k with settings set to the high or ultra preset in all games. This is extremely good.聽 Here is the article if you want to read it, just scroll down to the gaming benchmarks.

Neither of the 3. 7900XT would maim these in performance and longevity for the same price as a 4070Ti, and you really only lose out on RT performance. Unless if you need the NVENC encoder for streaming or you are running CUDA biased workstation apps, get that instead.

And what about it? I honestly think that 23.7.1 and above really have fixed the pain point for 7000 series Radeon that happened on launch, and it is quite stable for just gaming.

And using an AMD card does work on an Intel system correct?

Yes. It intentionally not working would invoke FTC ire pretty hard.聽
