Portable College PC

Other details (Important): I am attending college this semester and traveling a great distance across the country without a car. My primary mode of transportation to and from home will be by plane. With this in mind, I currently have a desktop at home. Though I am worried about moving it cross country especially with how often I'd be going back and forth between the two. Additionally I'd need to be able to play games on this device as I am on an eSports scholarship.

 

My current ideas are, a laptop (unsure of what laptop currently).

A small form factory PC, that I can put in my carry onbag. Also I'm not afraid of building a PC, I have built a few, and helped with many.

Or shipping my PC cross-country and remove the GPU.

 

BIggest issue with the last idea is just the frequency of moving. Likely, I'll be moving between home and college 4~ times a year in addition to any LAN events I'd attend.

 

Obviously I don't want to have to spend money if at all possible, but if it's something I have to do, I will do it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
