Hey Linustechtips community members,

My PC recently stopped working.

Specs:

CPU: i7 10700F

MoBo: ASUS Tuff Gaming B560M-Plus Wifi

GPU: GPU GeForce RTX 3060

RAM: Viper 2x 8GB

Problem:

Initially the computer wouldn't boot (couldn't get to BIOS either), however there was power to fans, and GPU and Mobo Lights. The CPU light on the MoBo at the time was flashing red.
Did the usual troubleshooting things. So eventually replaced the CPU, same issue. Then replaced the Mobo, same issue persits, but now no power to the case fans, but Mobo lights

and GPU lights still come on. No power to peripherals.

Likely to be the PSU?

Thanks for anyone's advice.

Assemble it outside of the case (on a piece of cardboard or the anti static bag the board came in). Cpu, 1 stick of ram in slot A2, and power only. Use screwdriver to jump the power pins to get it started. See if you get a POST. Not sure if your board has LEDs or a speaker - you won’t have video output so it’s either a single beep or boot led.

If it posts, then start adding in one component at a time.

If it doesn’t, one of the components is not working. Since you replaced cpu and board already, either ram or psu is bad.
