Microphone problems

Hey guys/gals,

 

I am after some help in trouble shooting my microphone. I use a rode usb mic in discord and when I play some games it cuts out completely until I close the game again. I’ve tried many things such as updating the bios, all usb drivers, pretty much every other driver on the pc. It only started when I got a new motherboard/cpu/ram. I have tried different cables/usb ports/ usb mics, so I don’t believe the problem is with the mic as it worked flawless on the old setup.

mb: ASUS ROG Strix B550-E Gaming AM4 ATX Desktop Motherboard (ROG STRIX B550-E GAMING)

cpu:AMD Ryzen 5 5500 6 Core 12 Thread Up To 4.2Ghz AM4

ram:Corsair 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 Vengeance RGB Pro SL C16 3200Mhz

 

any help would be very much appreciated as this problem is wearing me thin.

Try a different usb port, most likely a 2.0 port with not enough power or slow bandwidth.
