Check the manual of the mainboard. The RAM usually has a couple of lower clocked stock profiles built-in that you can choose from, plus the highest clocked XMP profile. Most mainboards will let you fill in a timings profile manually as well. If the lower clocked stock profile isn't sufficient, you can look up the XMP timings profile for the lower clocked RAM of the same series, that profile will probably work too.

My motherboard supports like 4000+mhz (X299 Dark) but the processor (i9 10920x) supports only 2933mhz. Will the ram run at 2933mhz or at lower speed than that if I use a 3200mhz kit

Intel rated maximum speed is pure legalese. Anything higher than maximum is considered as overclocking and that means they're no longer responsible for your hardware if it gets damaged which means if you admit to run RAM higher than the CPU supported speed, Intel has the right to deny your RMA, even if your integrated memory controller runs higher RAM speed in a stable manner.

Ignore it, and see the RAM XMP profile in the BIOS or in the specification page.
