3090 stuttering

hello everyone, im having problems with my new 3k dollar pc build, im getting verry high latency at first i thought the problem was with my graphics card since LatencyMon was telling me the cause was an nvidia driver and i have been experiencing sever stuttering when gaming so i thought i had a faulty gpu, BUT no even after completly removing the gpu and running on integrated graphics still getting latency issues in LatencyMon, I have been trouble shooting for days but nothing is working 3k usd gone to waste. any help apreciated

Does any of this translate into actual performance issues in games?

 

This tool is specifically designed for real-time audio. The word "real-time" has a very specific meaning in computing tasks and is not something an average person has to worry about. Note the red X next to "novice users": https://www.resplendence.com/latencymon

 

The tool is saying you have an average latency of 1.2 µs. That's 0.0012 milliseconds or 0.0000012 seconds. That's not the type of latency a gamer needs to worry about. Ever. Start worrying if you're a real-time audio engineer. If you experience 200+ millisecond network latency in games, that's something to worry about.

That is very likely not the issue here. As I said above, real-time refers to a very specific type of computing, not something games use. You're likely chasing the wrong cause here.

 

Just look at how the tool is measuring latency in µs. You generally don't need to worry about latency at that scale. For games latency starts to matter when it reaches milliseconds, which is 1000 times greater. Even the highest measured latency of 12,000 µs is just 12 ms. The current latency is only 0.019 ms.

 

If you want to analyze performance issues in games, install something like MSI Afterburner, then have a look at GPU and CPU usage plus temperatures while in game. If your computer starts to stutter, it might be down to insufficient cooling and e.g. GPU reducing its clock rate to compensate.

What are the temperatures before and after the first 10 seconds?

What kind of games are you running? Are they GPU intensive or CPU intensive?

i am testing gta5 and re4 i suppose that they are both gpu intensive,

the statement "and other tasks" is what made me to think that my system had some sort of gpu latency issues

 

 

After some more testing my gpu core temp is at 65c and mem temp at 70c and hot spot at 70c both before and after the stuttering starts gpu usage drops to half, im using an evga ftw3 ultra 3090 with a custom loop, when installing the gpu block i noticed that there were no cooling on the LR22 VRM chips, the gpu block manufacturer stated that's its not necessary to cool them as they dont get that hot, i am thinking that they are over heating which is what was causing the stuttering so i will try to run it with air cooler instead.

 

 

after testing with the air cooler i still was experiencing stuttering so i returned to the gpu block, i also swapped to a 1000w psu which also didnt help im going to clean install windows next and start with fresh drivers.

ok so i solved it by clean installing windows on my samsong 980 pro m.2 previously i had it installed on a shitty old toshiba drive which apparently was causing all the game stuttering and for the system overall to be slow af, every time i wanted to open an app it was really slow however after installing on my ssd the system is more responsive and im no longer getting any stuttering. thanks for all the replies.
