First of all, hello world! I've been skulking in the shadows for a while watching this amazing community from a distance. I'm pretty sure this is the best place to find an answer to my question. I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong section.

So my brother runs a federal contracting company. Business is good and he's hiring a couple project managers. He intends to provide them with laptops to use in the field. He doesn't know much about computers, so he's coming to me asking me for advice on what he should buy. I could wing it and find a recommendation but I was thinking that perhaps I could get a good recommendation to supplement my own findings.

Obviously it needs to be something modern. At least a 4 core cpu. At least 8g on the ram. It needs to have a sim slot since they would be used in possibly remote job sites where finding wifi might not be possible. A fingerprint scanner would be a good thing to include. If passive cooling could be possible it would be preferable. Low power consumption for longer battery life and durability are important since they will be used in the field.

It won't need to run any super intensive 3d applications or games. It'll mostly be used for viewing or editing spreadsheets, documents, and possibly 2d schematics.

His question to me was primarily what system builder he should prefer (dell, Toshiba, etc). I could easily recommend brands for entertainment but I honestly have no clue what brands are worthwhile when it comes to office, commercial, or industrial use.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
