Budget (including currency): $3000 USD

Country: Indiana, USA (near a Micro Center)

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: primarily gaming with some super simple video editing for my church. Wife likes games like Horizon Zero Dawn; No Mans Sky; Subnautica; I play primarily DOTA; COD; Battlefield.

Other details Neither of us are super competitive and I think would prefer 1440p or 4K gaming. We would honestly be fine with 4K60Hz for most games and lighter games 4K100+ if possible.

pretty solid selection.

You can do high 1440p/4k 60 on a pretty mid range card like a 3080 or something like that.

Ah thanks. I was wondering what the best way was to include the list.

I do not need any peripherals other than a monitor. I’ve got a decent mouse and keyboard from a friend already, same with OS.

I’d like to stick with the Fractal North because the walnut matches my desk and bookshelves in my office, but I appreciate the other recommendations. Is the XTX that much ahead of the XT? I figured the $700 for the 7900XT was a good deal compared with $1000 for the XTX

But for 4k the jump really is worth it

If youre thinking to go below 32 inch, just go for 1440p144 instead. It is LEAGUES cheaper than 4K144 and you can get better gaming experience all around.

Thanks for the advice. We were planning for 32”-38” range though the 42” LG C2 looks good too.

Appreciate the build! Mesh side was the plan since this will be in an office. The less flashing lights the better.

Other than costs, is there any reason to not grab the Noctua NH D15 or something similar?

first off, that is something similar. Its a twin tower, 6 vapor chamber piped heatsink. Its just the Peerless Assassin 120 is 120mm, and D15 is 140mm.

And personally, I wouldn't spend a dime on NH-D15 just yet. NH-D15 v2 is going to come out real soon around Q3 this year or Q1 next year and its going to be a down-up rework of the legendary cooler that is now a 10 year old design. Itll be a better cooler.

Ah sweet. So spend less now and wait if needed. Thanks so much!
