Tapes/adhesives/pads/etc inside electronics.

Hi.

Decided to make this topic, since quick searches here and there didn't really bring any conclusive results.

 

Would like to ask about all these various tapes/adhesives used inside laptops. From a list I found there can be conductive, mylar, acetate, polyamide, electrical, double-sided, etc..
When you open up a laptop cover it can look like someone just decided to put bunch of different color tape and stickers everywhere. Also various thermal pads and soft sponges here and there.

 

Is there any good video about this to explain the use of all of them, why, where and how important it is to keep them in place when re-assembling parts?

If there isn't a good video, should LTT make one about it?
