update: i reset my bios to default and reinstalled the game and now it booted up. i also made a new partition just for the game.

I turned my bios profile back on, meaning cpu overclock and xmp on and the game does not want to boot anymore so it's bios related.
I will update again when i find what bios setting causes this.

1st im happy the game works now!

2nd I have no idea what bios setting causes this.
I reset to defaults and one by one i re-add my custom overclock settings, between EVERY setting i rebooted the PC and tried to boot the game.
XMP > Manual CPU voltage(to run my 5.1ghz) > Performance cores CPU multiplier 51(to get 5.1ghz) > Efficiency core CPU multiplier 36(to get 3.6ghz) > LLC on Turbo(Load-Line Calibration, applies additional voltage to your CPU under load to provide more stability while overclocking) > disabled motherboard RGB > turned of gigabyte app in bios(this download loads a gigabyte app in windows for drivers).

Those setting is what i had before, nothing more nothing less, so TLDR; i reset bios, re-did my settings and now the game magically works.

F1 23 will not launch at all, see what happens here: youtube
it keeps trying to install some language pack then the game tries to launch but just stops and it give me the play button again.
I'm currently in "contact" with EA but they only send copy/past trouble shooting steps that are not helpfull.

Steam user
windows 10 22H2
pc specs in signature below

things I've tried.
turn off all overclocks
turn of all programms except steam
installed game on different ssd's
multiple installs/reinstalls
windows updated
nvidia updated(also did DDU)
removed those windows language packs shown in the video above(did not help, it just redownloads them)
reset my router
VC++ runtime package installed correctly
no anti virus running
clear windows temp files
disabled g sync
all files verified through steam
run steam as admin
try boot game as admin
turn off cloud sync

If you have any idea or things you want me to try please share! it's been 6 days now trying to figure out what the issue is and I'm out of ideas.

Smells like corrupted code to me. Where did you get this thing?  One possibility is that it’s really old and you’ve got to run it in an earlier OS.  Maybe try compatibility mode

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

if you mean the game with "this thing" , i got it on steam.

I've tried compatibility mode and it didn't work either.

There is an option to validate a downloaded game 0n steam my memory is you right click something for the pull down menu for the option.  Steam is supposed to check stuff for Trojans.  Someone may get have gotten clever though.  I don’t know how that works

I could try but when going through the steam support page it just says to get in contact with the Publisher aka Electronic Arts. I can't make an F1 23 support ticket about the game so they will probably refuse a normal ticket about this issue but I'll try.

Steam is rather famous for not providing personalized support.  Too many games too many customers. They do have a forum for each game though.  You could ask on that one.  There may even be a pinned post about your problem.

If not make noise about it, go on every social media platform and post about it, if it gets viral enough steam will do something. Thats an expensive game dude. Do you have the option of returning the game?

nothing that is pinned on the steam forum side, ive posted about my issue like many other users and so far between reddit, steam and other forums ive seen about 100-150 people having the same issue as me.

I just send steam a support ticket explaining what is happening but i doubt they can do anything at all since its an EA game.

ive made reddit posts(they got downvoted by fanboys), steam forum posts(many others post about this issue), ive made multiple tweets about it and now im trying here on ltt.

Yes i can refund via steam within 2 weeks and if the game has under 2 hrs of gameplay, the issue with this is that steam refunds money to your steam wallet so then i have 70euros stuck in steam instead of being able to rebuy it trough origin for example. So im trying to delay the steam refund as long as possible...

edit: its really anoying when people tell you its a YOU issue, and this can be true but im not the ONLY person that has this issue. I have 2 steam friends that own the game and the game works for them fine so I'm very confused on how the game doesnt work for about 100-150 people.

And it's not like im a noob when it comes to pc's, i've never had this issue with any game ever.

If Verifying the integrity of game files didn't bring out any results, you might wanna try repairing your Windows.

For example, try Command Prompt as Admin:

sfc /scannow

If it didn't find anything try this one:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If either of these found anything, restart your PC.

If not, you might wanna try updating/reinstalling your GPU drivers.

Good luck!

I've done sfc /scannow before and it didn't find anything. I just redid it now and it didnt find anything.

The restorehealth didn't help my issue either.

I've already done multiple DDU runs and reinstalls of nvidia drivers, no gforce experience, gforce experience, older drivers, newest, nothing worked.

1. Check event viewer for any crash dump related to it.

2. Check if there's any log file in %USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\F1 23\

3. Does this game required Origin to run in the background? Try reinstall it.

1. event viewer screenshots: 1 2
screenshot one: ive tried a different network, ive tried multiple ssd's. i ran the CHKDSK /F in cmd and after pc reboot it repaired some files but did not fix my issue.

2nd screenshot i'm not sure what todo with this, changing the name of the .exe gives me an instant error that the .exe is missing.

let me know what else i can try based on these 2 logs

2. there are no files in this path at all
3. not that im aware of, game is installeds via steam like all other f1 games prewviously.

It’s more or less only if it’s a problem with steam rather than the game.  It’s outside possible the problem so with steam, but if the problem is with the game itself they can’t be of any help. Also it will be something like a few days to a month before someone there even reads it.  They get a LOT of traffic.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

update: i reset my bios to default and reinstalled the game and now it booted up. i also made a new partition just for the game.

I turned my bios profile back on, meaning cpu overclock and xmp on and the game does not want to boot anymore so it's bios related.
I will update again when i find what bios setting causes this.

Wait… you hadn’t already done that?  I remember something about resetting cmos which is what that does.  It’s probably the overclock.  Try it with dirt standard bios
