Budget (including currency): $1500AUD

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rocket league. PUBG. Valorant.

Other details:

CURRENT SPECS:

i5 8600k @5.1ghz OC’d (old but I’d like to think is doing well for its age)

DDR4 16gb 2400mhz (yikes I know)

Asus ROG RTX 2070

750w 80+ Gold PSU

1440p 144hz monitor. Wanting a second monitor in the future.

So I’m looking to upgrade my pc. Cpu is getting quite old. Missing a lot of features like hyper threading and is 6 core 6 thread.

unsure wether I should upgrade cpu mobo and ram. Or send a gpu upgrade. And if I do upgrade. Which team should I be opting for. And what tier would make it worth upgrading from a 2070. Thanks in advance. First time posting so please let me know how to post better 🙂

Keep the same case and PSU, if you want you can re-use the cooler and take the ak400 off the parts list. You could probably get $50 for the cooler but your choice, I would personally keep the cooler.

Heres what i would do Sell the Board ram, gpu, cpu and (case?) as a combo ill say you could get maybe 500-550 aud for it? That leaves you with 2000-2050 AUD for a gpu (case?) ram and cpu which if you push the budget a little you can get something like this:

(can also swap xtx for xt to stay under the budget)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor  ($342.95 @ Mwave Australia)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650M DS3H Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard  ($201.00 @ MSY Technology)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 Memory  ($198.00 @ Amazon Australia)
Video Card: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24 GB Video Card  ($1459.00 @ MSY Technology)
Total: $2200.95

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

In aus 400 would be reasonable for those parts if selling.

My First PC
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
Cooler: Asus TUF Gaming LC240
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B550-f gaming
RAM: 4x8 GB Corsair Vengeance RS (3200 MHz, CL16)
Storage: 1tb Samsung 980 Pro
Graphics Card: Asus Dual RTX 2060 OC
Case: Deepcool Matrexx 50
Power Supply: Corsair RM650x
Headset: Razer Blackshark V2
Keyboard: Corsair K70 Pro Mini (Speed Silver switches)
Mouse: Razer Viper Mini
Only changes I have made is I sold the 2060 for $235 AUD and bought a Powercolor Red Devil 6700 XT for $400 second hand (it was barely used, think I scored a deal on Ebay with that).

I love Photography (Using a Canon 60D)

Love F1, my favourite team is Ferrari and my favourite driver is Leclerc
