HELP! - Linux Mint on Hardware RAID

I am trying to install Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon on a hardware RAID 1 (Mirrored) of two SATA HDDs. I can install Windows and it will install fine because it is dumb and installs keeping the raid intact, but Linux Mint sees each drive separately. please help!
