I live in Europe, Sweden to be exact. The freight time here is very _very_ slow.

From order it takes a couple of days then 1-2 weeks or perhaps _more_ to get the parcel to my door.

My best shipping experience ever was ordering something from the US Friday evening Swedish time (early in the day in the US) and it arriving early Monday morning Swedish time (during the night between Sunday and Monday US time), so it IS possible to get delivery very very fast.
I would have no problem paying for that. I would choose that no question. Even if the postage is double what it is today on the store.

It matters to me to get stuff fast. When I have decided to buy something I usually want it yesterday so paying to get it fast isn't a huge issue and if you're buying a backpack (or two) plus a jacket the money for the postage is a small percentage even if it's double what it is today.

Why are we not allowed to choose a faster delivery?
Is there some problem with offering a fast UPS/Fedex delivery if you don't get enough customers paying for it? Or is there some other reason?
The 2 weeks shipping is murder (for me).

Thanks for the feedback!

Just to speak in terms of actual numbers, when you say you're willing to pay twice the price for shipping, what you'd be looking at is $100 USD per backpack, plus another $36-60 for any remaining products you wanted (our international shipping costs are capped at $29.99 for non-backpack items, but also weight limited to about 5 kg).

That might be a price you're willing to pay, but we suspect that will not be the case for most of our customers. Thus, our strategy is going to be to wait until we're at a scale where we can negotiate better shipping rates for most people before we begin to offer premium shipping services like what you describe.

I hope that doesn't sound like I'm being defensive, but I think it does help to frame these sorts of discussions in that context.

I went into some more detail on the topic of shipping here, if you're interested:
