Maybe dead laptop

Go to solution Solved by OhYou_,

does it do anything at all when on battery and you try to turn it on? even a light or anything
what about when plugged in
do you have any means of checking that the charger is functional?

I think my next step would be to disconnect the battery and reconnect it and try to power it on again. If no change then I would disconnect it again and leave the battery disconnected, then plug in the ac adaptor and try to power the laptop on.

I understand that this laptop has an internal battery and some disassembly is required. If you feel comfortable with it though, there is a guide on ifixit with a few pictures that would be helpful.

Half way through a war thunder match (fairly high load but nothing unusual) my acer nitro 5 (10th gen i5 and a 1660ti) just died unexpectedly, no blue screen and the power indicators are off, will it be worth trying anything or should I get a new laptop? Any help is good im pretty mythed rn 😂

What troubleshooting steps did you take? I take it that you tried plugging it in?

I will find your Laptop thread and I will recommend an ITX build instead

Sure would be neat if there was something useful here, eh?

it had full battery so that’s not it

That means jack, plugging it in actually makes a difference sometimes. Go through the usual steps I would say
