so i've been getting parts for a gaming pc over the last little while, most of them were ordered via amazon and arrived just fine.

 

however, a sabrent rocket 1tb i ordered did not, i got the box, which was ripped but no drive inside, what makes this even stranger is i already ordered the same drive but with 256gb for a boot drive and that got here just fine, it was even the same seller.

 

i did end up getting a refund and got a 970 pro 1tb instead, remember to always be careful buying things, even on amazon.

Glad you were able to get things figured and get your money back! If you have all the parts needed to run a quick test powerup that might be a good idea to make sure the rest of you componets are working!

oh they work just fine, i tested everything  and ran hwinfo and a few benchmarks to make sure, this post is more a 'gotta be careful even with trusted sites' but thank you.

Amazon is a trusted site but allows random people to sell on it, that's the rub.  

 

Your caution is noted, but isn't that something we do 24/7 anyway?  I have never once not been careful when buying things, from checking reviews, looking for "too good to be true", to using American Express to buy everything.  Disputing things on Amex is easy peasy and has always been in my favor.

Sadly a package can go thru so many hands before it arrives to the buyer that at any point in the chain if someone is a little less honest then things can go missing.

Also depending upon where the buyer is located and the point of origin there are often many stops on the way. 

Shipping from City A to a sorting house distribuition center. shipped from there to City B etc then finally sorted by district and handed over to a local delivery service.

Very few people in the scope of online purchases live in a city where an item is shipped direct to the buyer.

to be fair i did say in the original post, i had already ordered a drive from the same seller and it got here fine
