Driver Config Settings in Windows Device Manager

I have 2 TP-Link TX401s 10G nics one connected to my pc, another connected to a windows server, I use the windows server so I don't have to have any HDDs and some SSDs in my main pc, but I have to access them constantly. What driver settings should I setup in windows device manager for better performance. Like anyway I can make the connection never sleep? Higher buffer sizes? I just don't know what is safe to change and/or what I should change them too. I have the latest drivers installed.

I'm not sure I'm understanding the whole scope of what you are trying to do. But I don't think the slowdowns are on your windows host side or the nics configuration.

The connection sleeping shouldn't be a big bottleneck. If it's HDD it'll be slow access if they're allowed to spin down. And it never that fast with spinning rust anyways. Linus uses 10G nics because the server is an array of nvme ssd. I don't imagine your setup is that ridiculous... 

 

So if my assumptions are correct**

You can improve performance with some caching and making sure the disk don't sleep. But it might not get you all the way to what you hope.

Absolutely right my setup is nothing like his. Really what I'm looking for is what settings I can tune for less CPU overhead at the cost of performance, but not at the cost of latency.  Like Buffer Size or any of the offloads. What should they be at? I've seen people saying that NICs should be optimized but never what the settings should be. I do use primocache on a nvme for a couple HDDs. I've got the HDDs to never sleep
