Any video links you'd recommend to check this out?

I'll assume it's for the case?

These. There's some others too, check the SFF Master List for console style cases

Hi,

Looking for any recommendations for gaming laptops. I'd likely be playing FM, CIV VI & at the higher end possibly Elden Ring. Don't really have a budget but not looking for a machine that would greatly exceed requirements for the aforementioned game. (also not against this for future proofing if the extra cost isn't that excessive)

I know a PC is usually preferable, I already have one but I need something portable now as I'll also be using this for work as I'm often travelling a lot & taking my PC isn't an option.

I'm not particularly bothered about 4K resolution & an OLED panel - If anything, I'd prefer it to just be 1440p as the 4k display's destroy the battery life and I just simply don't care for it.

If anybody has used a laptop that roughly fits that description, please let me know!

Thanks

future proofing

There is no future proofing, you'd be better off buying midrange now and then again in a few years. Going with an R5 7600X instead of a 7600 if the price difference is negligible is okay, but no point in buying a 7900X instead (unless it's REALLY cheap)

Not even an ITX build in a DR Zaber Sentry or similar with a portable monitor? I really dislike Laptops for gaming, a lot of them tend to be lower performance than expected and the battery performance usually is pretty bad, too.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with this. Any video links you'd recommend to check this out?

ITX build

I can also recommend the SilverStone Sugo SG13 from personal experience, it's cheaper but you NEED a 120mm AIO if you want acceptable CPU temps

Yeah, that could pose a problem. But a gaming Laptop pulling 240W, 300W might be too much as well and either really unwieldy at that point or just overheating and throttling. OP didn't mention anything about flying, but I will admit that almost ITX PC is ill-suited to it.
That said, nothing stops you from bringing a tablet or thin and light as well (yes, they cost money, but used ones are affordable).
