Am I cursed?

Hi. Backstory: in my PC gaming live I went from a gtx 480, to a 1050, to a rx 580, to a 2060 super and now a 6950xt.

 

With both the AMD gpu's i've had I have encountered random black screens (and with random I really mean random) for like 1-2secs. 

I' ve had my 6950XT for 3 weeks and in the beginning it was fine, but now it randomly started black screening since a few days. I' ve DDU'd, tried older drivers, newer, different DP port on my GPU, still happens. Just fyi, I have 2 monitors, black screens only happen on the main one.

 

If someone is able to help me, I would really appreciate it.

Have you tried swapping the video cables?

Do you have a spare SSD?  Could try installing windows on that and seeing what happens.

I dont have a spare DP cable and can' t reproduce the issue easily, i' d just have to sit there for any amount of time. It might be the cable tho, its a really old 1.1 cable of poor quality, still wouldn' t explain why it only just started happening and hadnt happened for the first 2 weeks ive had the card

If you have enough slack and cable length, try running the DP cable away from others. I have similar problems though on HDMI from interference causing momentary cutouts for a second or 2 until I routed it away from all other cables, then my problems were resolved.

alright did it, we' ll see. Also turned down refresh rate to 60 to see if that' ll fix it. Also getting a new 1440p monitor and 1.4 cable in like a week, maybe that' ll fix it. If it doesn't, I' m afraid ill have to  RMA the card, and spend my life savings on team green.

Out of curiosity, is your GPU installed directly into the PCIe slot or does it go through a riser cable?

Hasn't fixed anything sadly. ZIt's only like 1 time per few hours but it's sp annoying, because I spent 700€ on the card and it doesn't work properly, unless it's the cable but it doesnt make sense since it worked fine on my old gpu
