Hey guys, so I have a question, has anyone moded the e-yooso tkl keyboard? I have that keyboard and Gamakay phoenix silent switches and I'm having a tough time putting the new ones on the keyboard.

I Keep bending the pins. First time putting the key switches on a keyboard. I have checked they're 3pin Mx style switches so I hope it's not a compatibility issue.

Yeah that thing is an Outemu based hotswap, AFAIK. @casian86 pretty much hits it for the common issue of not being able to put it in, but you cant force an Outemu hotswap socket. Kailh meanwhile can use both Outemu and Cherry/Kailh sized socket. I only know 2 brands that makes compatible replacement if youre not willing to spend more on hot air solder to swap all the sockets, which is KTT and Outemu themselves. Other route would be to sand down the golden pins until it fits, one by one, which is nightmare.

Oh damn. Ok. So my options are buy a different key switch or sand down the ones I have with sandpaper? I guess I'll try the sand paper route first. I really need a silent switch for myself, (sharing a room with another has problems).

Thank you though

Just try comparing the pins between the outemu and the one you have for replacement first before you go sandpapering, are yours really wider?

How's the pin spacing / placement ? same?

You probably need a caliper.
