What GPU to get

Hello,

 

I've been rocking my 1080 for a couple of years now but I feel like it's time for an upgrade. I mainly play 1080p games.

I was thinking to grab a RTX3080. I'm not sure though, what cards would you guys recoomend?

For the price that 3080s usually hang around, you might as well get a 4070ti instead. Anything more than a 6700xt or 3060ti equivalent would be mostly considered overkill for a 1080p monitor, so I'd probably get either of those depending on what you use them for

To be fair I never had an AMD gpu, I've been very happy with my Nvidea products and the main reason why I wanted to maybe go for the 3080 was the ray tracing.

nvidea makes good gpus indeed, but would you want to pay 700 for a 3070 or 400 for 3070 performance, exactly, amd has the upper hand in price

Of these options, the 3060 Ti would be nice. But I'm in total agreement with @Blqckout that the 6700 XT would be the real way to go. 3070 performance for $400 and 12GBs of VRAM. But if you insist on a 3080, just buy the 4070 Ti because it doesn't make sense to buy a 3080 new at these garbage prices.
