IR blaster for Media Control.

We have many devices that are controlled via IR remotes.

 

(Beamer, TV, Soundbar, reciever, screen, fire tv stick)

 

I wondered if having an stationary IR blaster connected to a phone or Alexa or something is a good way to automatize things and make it controllable via phone.

(Eg: Turn on Soundbar, switch to HDMI input and roll down screen when beamer is turned on)

 

I found some for under 20 bucks on Amazon but the reviews were kinda inconclusive if that would work.
