Lol your definition of budget is different from mine.  I read that headline and was thinking “1080p@60 monitors are trash tier these days.  Should be someone throwing one out.  Pick it up for near nothing”

27” is kind of a magic number these days because of how panels are made.  Going up to 32” can wildly increase price for what is effectively the same monitor. The gigabyte m28 is actually a better panel than the m32 but the m32 is twice the price.  VA and IPS monitors made these days are near the speed TN monitors were and TN is more or less gone. There should be a 27” 1080p with those specs on pcpartpicker for near that money.  Might even get 1440p though I wouldn’t count on it. If you got a vga out and don’t mind something huge and incredible heavy if you can find an old CRT monitor around for trash it might do you.  CRTs were incredibly fast.  That 144 hz might be a problem though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

will have a look on pcpartspicker. anything above 27" is stupid, also I probably dont have space for three 32 monitors. No way im going 1440p. I have a 2060. I think it may struggle to run 3 1080 p monitors.

2060?! 3d gaming oh yeah it’s a nice and thick 1k monitor and there are some things it can do 2k, but yeah.  (Totally fine in 2d of course.  An iGP is fine running 3 4ks in 2d) There was a review of a 1080p monitor on LTT today that might be worth a look.  $100can a piece.  It’s mostly underwhelming but it did do variable refresh which could be handy for when you can’t hit 75hz.  The used video card market seems to be bangin though.

I’ve seen 3080ti for like 3/5ths what I paid for a USED 6800xt a few months ago.  It’s like the bottom fell out.

He does talk about a few others at the end.  Stuff that might be up your street.  1080p is supposed to get kinda chunky around 27”. The stuff I’ve seen on sim racing seems to be that the big money goes into the wheel. They’re apparently the spendiest component including the monitors.  There are a few videos on that too

me I don’t do sim cars.   I had a mini Cooper in Minnesota winters so I did it in real life.  What people in California call drifting we call “driving in winter”.  Sideways was normal going to the local bodega.  I did it all at like 15mph of course.  When I was growing up my dad had a diesel vannagon that was designed to be a German night bus.  45hp.  Wouldn’t hit 50 in a major headwind.  You had to drive like a madman to keep up with normal traffic.  I learned to heel toe in that thing before I’d even heard the term.  Cable shifter for an engine in the back so it drove a lot like a 911.  Redline at every stoplight and no one even noticed.  Just lots slower.  Really. A LOT slower.  Just merging onto the freeway was like pucker factor 7
