I have corsair hx1200 psu from 2018. I have two gpu that die whit no reason. Radeon Vii and  rx 6900xt reference desing. I test psu and there is no fault. But my rtx 2080 was running no problem whit this psu. Is there a chance that my psu is bad or i have bad luck whit amd reference cards? Thanks.

Hi buddy,

Firstly, can you define die? What happens? Crash / Blue Screen / Black Screen / Hard Reboot.....???

Can you put the AMD cards in another system to see if you can replicate the problem with other internals?

Have you ruled out a driver problem? DDU the drivers or even do a fresh install of Windows.

Well, did you or someone else investigate the reason why they died? And as you've said, the 2080 works there fine. It could or could not be the case but no one would be able you tell you that unless they're repair professionals looking closely at those dead cards.

They just die, playing games, pc crash, no picture etc. Test both gpu in two different pc, did not work.  send them for rma and got both times refund.

I doubt you would've gotten a refund if the issue wasn't isolated to the GPUs themselves. Maybe just very rare bad luck with both.

It's certainly a possibility, but since the warranty refunded you for those two GPUs I probably woudn't worry about it and don't think it is the case that your PSU is faulty. I would also suspect any of the other components like your monitor or TV not being properly grounded. If you worry about it too much, then change your PSU, but that specific model/linup is actually a very good one that I also personally have.

But just to mention it again, the warranty wouldn't have refunded you for those GPUs if the issue was caused by you and not the AMD cards being faulty themselves. So I'd say you 99% don't have anything to worry.

I understand but i change whole pc even monitor, mouse and keyboard just psu was the same. Maybe i just have bad luck whit amd reference cards. I was refunded today for rx 6900 xt and i got sapphire rx 7900 xtx nitro+ (because rtx 4080 is even more money) and strix 1000w psu whit no additional cost.

Getting a new PSU is all up to how you feel and there in nothing anyone could tell you unless they're repair professionals with access to your PSU. I think it's not likely that the AMD warranty would have given you back all of your money if the issue wasn't cause by the cards themselves( I'm 99% sure about this). additionally, if the PSU were the problem, you'd have a lot more issues to deal with by now( Maybe just that cable or port you use for the video card?)

But then again, I don't think anyone other than a repair professional could tell you anything useful and if you want to get a new PSU just do it. You can also send your PSU back to warranty and see what they say about it. An HX1200w is not cheap.

Is not in warranty eny more because it here we have 3 year warranty not 10 as corsair claims. Why? I dont know. Maybe if i send it direct to corsair here in europe they will test it but i dont have time for this stuff.
