Hello guys! I need some help with my rig. I just ordered an RX 580 online and it will be arriving within this or next week. But yesterday I realized that I'm using a generic, if not the most generic PSU I've even had. (pic included)

SO I've been trying to find a cheap but good psu but I can't seem to make a choice. I'm thinking of getting a corsair cv550 or a Deep cool DE600. however I couldn't find a good review about it and if it can work well with an rx 580.

right now my pc specs are these:

Processor: Intel GOLD G5400

Mobo: H310 s2h

Ram: 16 gb

GPU: gtx 1050

and a 500gb hdd.

I'm planning on getting an i3-9100f next, so I'm kinda tight on budget. Thank you guys in advance!

Try to get a different PSU, at least one that is 80+ rated

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Maybe Restart it?

Take a look at this, it should have pretty much everything you need.

Use this to determine what wattage you need:

https://www.newegg.com/tools/power-supply-calculator/

----------

You're going to be CPU bottlenecked I imagine and your mobo isn't going to provide epic power to that GPU so you're not going to need anything epic. Something like a lower end CX Corsair model would probably suffice, although the more hardcore guys may suggest better. The CV models are not regarded as being much good.

also - I'd highly suggest an SSD if you haven't got one already. That will by far and away make the biggest difference to your system. Here in the UK they're dirt cheap at the moment.

The first upgrade you want to do is get a ssd even if its a 240Gb one the cheapest you could find it will improve your experience with your pc a lot. And in my opinions 9th gen is really not that great  even 9900& 9700 is showing its age now so i would say you should save that money. 580 is also showing its age and the Gtx 1050 does have DX12V1 (The 10 series does have it so prob it also have it) but the 580 doesn't it can lead to incompatibilities with modern games You could combat this with translations layers. if you are playing old games the system will be fine, Powersupply i swap it for somethink better.

Thanks alot! I had fun with the calculator! LOL. And I checked the listed psu's from high to low end ones. Decide on corsair cx50m. Already ordered it just a few mins ago. It was kinda out of my budget though. But glad to get that out of head! And thanks to the other 2 who replied! @Gokul_P yeah I'm also planning on getting a storage upgrade. Its just that I'm still undecided whether to get an ssd or an M.2. coz I checked that my mobo has a slot for it. 1 headache at a time! Thanks guys!

Get M.2.

Absolute no brainer. They're extremely easy to fit (easier than the non M.2 types as they don't require any type of enclosure). Just double check the screw for fixing it down is where it should be on your mobo. Others come with it in a small bag in the mobo box and can be very easy to miss! It will be he 2280 you need. Get the NVME with faster speeds (not sata speeds) but know that your mobo may be limited on giving it it's full speed. If you look up your mobo's specs on manufacturer website you should be able to work out the max speeds permitted.

I'd make this a priority. The difference between SSD and non SSD is night and day. Even if it's just a 250GB one to use as a boot drive + installed game (ideally 500GB+ though).
