Astro A50 mute problem! Help please

Okay so I've had the Astro A50 since Christmas and I've loved almost everything about it but there are little problems with it that are so annoying that made me literally take the headset out, put it in its box and put it on ebay.

when i go on Skype i have to restart the actual headset (because its wireless of course) and the actual Mixamp to be able to get the mice to work, it is very annoying and when ever i start a new convo it happens again. i've tried using different programs like team speak and razer comms but it still doesnt work, recently it won't connect the headset or the am unless i unplug the Mixamp and plug it back in. restarting the headset while im in a game causing the sound of the game to disappear and i'd have to restart the game to get the sound back.

 

Is there anyone else with this issue and is there any solutions to it? because I'm getting really frustrated with this headset.

I haven't had those issues with my A40's but have you tried updating driver for your computer or just plugging them straight in not using the optical?

yeah i have, the astro a40 doesn't have those problems, its just the A50, i tried updating drivings, rebooting, installing new windows and also tried it on other PCs but still the same problem  :(

 

also im pretty sure they don't work without the Mixamp, ill try it anyways.

 

I've tried using it without the Mixamp, it doesn't detect the microphone at all, the speakers get detected but sounds don't play.

Doesnt the cable have spliter on it?

nope i don't have that, i should have probably mentioned that i use on board sound card as well, i just have an optical cable that goes in the Mixamp and the other end plugs in the back of the computer.

the mixamp is powered by USB as you may know, 1 port is for console and 1 port for PC, I've double and triple checked that i havent done anything stupid like plugging it in the wrong port.
