help with openwrt networking

OPNsense box:
* LAN
* WAN
* 1 unassigned NIC (planned as a dedicated VLAN NIC)

 

switch: Zyxel GS1900-8 (flashed with OpenWrt 22.03 stable)
currently running on default configuration (after many failed attempts to configure my desired configuration)

 

my plan:
* the VLAN NIC from opnsense will connect to the switch (port 1)
* on switch, port 2-8 each will have unique VLANs assigned
* if my friend connects his gaming laptop to a port on the switch, he shouldn't have to perform any additional configuration to connect to the internet
* the switch will not handle any DHCP/firewall (will be handled by OPNsense)

 

Tried a bunch of things (including bricking my switch) but to no avail. Assuming I have VLANs configured on OPNsense, I need help with setting up my switch.
