Hi,

I just built my pc this morning (first one). The Mobo is ROG Strix B-550 A and i can't seem to get the mic to work. I hear audio perfectly fine and when i tested it on my laptop the mic worked. I downloaded all the drivers from Armory Crate and nothing changed. The headphone is one of those wired apple headphones/mic. My case is a Corsair 4000D so theres headset/mic input on the front of the case. Here i can listen fine but the mic is just full static. on the back ports the mic doesnt work at all but i can hear fine. Im completely new to PC as ive used laptops all my life so is there a specific port i should be using?

Let me know if there's anything i can do to fix it or should i buy a headset.

For a good listening experience I recommend the one on the back of your Motherboard or use a usb headset Front panel audio isn't bad as it used to. or you can pickup a USB audio interface if you are into streaming and stuff. For your issue it is likely caused by the apple headset itself you can try reseating the front panel Audio header in the motherboard.  Your mobo have a 5 port audio interface so you have to use a converter (called 3.5mm splitter it splits the mic and audio out into differant cables then that you can then plug into your motherboard marked  line out and Mic in) to use the 1 pin headsets . i recommend you buy a new headset.

This is how you have to plug into your motherboard the aux cable  E17120_ROG_STRIX_B550-A_GAMING_UM_v2_WEB.pdf (pg no 50,51 on your manual
