Will it fit??

I am wondering if the rtx 4090 founders edition would fit into a MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk motherboard. Or better yet if that motherboard is good for the 4090 in general.

The main issue with GPU being so big, is whether it will fit the case, not the motherboard. Physically, the GPU's PCIE connector just need to plug into the motherboard, the area around the PCIE slot rarely ever affects the GPU, old boards used to have high sata port around the GPU area that would touch the GPU when connected, nowadays that is not an issue anymore.

The only thing a motherboard is of any concern to GPU choice, is whether the PCIE Gen would be an issue, and for this case, no. Any current gen CPU's motherboard would be fine with any GPU.

Check the specs of the case on the product page, there should a section specifically for GPU length and width.

Then check your prefered 4090's model dimensions, make sure that the dimensions of the 4090+ 10mm for margin of error, fit in the case.
