If time isn't a factor and it was bought brand new, I'd just return it for a replacement if it's still in the return window. I wouldn't even worry about checking it. Obviously though if the damage was there already, if it's user damage then that's a different story.

i think i may have broken it while taking the socket plastic shield off.

I can't really find a pinout diagram for the 1200 socket either really, so your best bet is to just install a CPU and see if it works or not.

With the way the socket shields are designed to come off you'd know if you accidentally hit the pins with it. Also you're not technically supposed to manually take them off, when you install the CPU the socket shield pops off when securing the retention bracket automatically. How did you take the socket cover off? And what makes you "think" you damaged it, you either did or didn't and trust me you'd know if you damaged the socket. I'd say regardless if it's under the retailer return period just return it or ask for a replacement because it didn't work. If it was an Amazon or online retailer purchase it should be pretty simple.

It's not a ground pin, I'm not super familiar with the pin types myself but I do know that really one of the only pin types you can get away with breaking or losing are ground pins, which that definitely is not. I'd say it's very likely the computer will not post, if it does something else will not function or you'll get instability and crashing.

I can't tell anything from this picture it's way to grainy and zoomed in. I think I see the pin that's missing, but just having a picture of your socket doesn't help me determine if it's a ground pin or not. I would need the layout, can you link the pin layout you found. Just going by the pin function you gave me if that's what they layout says it's for it's not a ground pin, so really all you can do is test a CPU in the board.

Regardless of anything, you're legit only option is to test a CPU in it and return it if it doesn't work. Personally, I would just return it now regardless. I wouldn't even waste my time on waiting for a CPU to test it.

I just tested it with my personal rig and posted and work fully. Booted into windows. I think I may have gotten really lucky

Looks like it. You'll want to do some intense and lengthy testing to make sure. Run CPU benchmarks and stress tests, memory tests as well. Otherwise avoid the risk and replace the board.

I just installed my cpu and stress tested the cpu, it works perfectly fine, the pin that I supposedly thought had fallen off has bent back into place . I guess I go rlly lucky
