I am considering upgrading my AMD XFX 5700xt in the next six months hoping to spend under $700. But I was wondering if I would be limited by my CPU and is it even worth upgrading yet. I have noticed some major frame drops when playing No Mans Sky.

Specs:

Intel Core i7-10700 (non K)

32gb DDR4 3200Mhz (I use this pc for work when opening large 3D building models as well)

AMD XFX 5700XT

WB Black SN850 1TB

Seagate 2TB HD

Thanks for your thoughts and advice in advance.

I use Revit mostly but do only minor manipulation. What I have now does that job with no problem.

I am hoping to run 4k at 60fps in single player games and 1440p at 120hz or even 144hz in multi player games.

Revit is cpu bound. I’d go for a 6900xt or some AMD card for that price point.

The higher the resolution you play at, the less cpu bound you will be assuming you have a gpu good enough.
