Help finishing build

DARBADARBZ

Budget (including currency): $100 for RAM? $300 for GPU?

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Beam.ng drive, MSFS2020, CS: GO, school, light editing

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Upgrading from an AMD A10-6800K build, using some old parts from it.

I almost am done. I just need ram, to get it going. My laptop has 3200MHz ram, so I want at least that speed. Looking at two 8GB sticks? Then getting two more in the future? Meeting that criterion, what works best with my mobo?

Also, using the Kingston as a boot drive. But the mobo has M.2. What is the difference between M.2 and NVMe? Can I use an NVMe drive, like the Samsung SN810 in my mobo? If not, what do you reccomend?

And for GPU.... I had an RX 560 but not anymore. GTX 1080Ti are about 250 in my area, is that good with a 5600G? I know newer cards are RTX, but I think I can live without it.

Also, what is my weak link? I am using some older parts, some pretty old. I'm a little used to and desensitized to lack of speed from the old A10 😅.

I included everything (I think necessary) about what I have. Feel free to ask anything.

Drives: 2.5" Kingston A400 SA400S37240G (240GB, SSD)

2.5" Seagate ST2000LM007 (2TB, 5400RPM)

(x2) 3.5" Seagate ST1000DM003 (1TB HDD, 7200 RPM)

3.5" Samsung SP2504C (250GB, 7200RPM)

For 50 dollars you could get 2x8gb ram, for 100ish you can get 2x16gb ram. I wouldn't go with a 360mm rad for a 5600, I would recommend a decent air cooler. May want to consider getting a more airflow centered case if you feel like it.

As far as GPU goes, AMD will probably be your best bang for the buck. Are you willing to go with used graphics cards? What exact programs do you use for "light editing" as some programs work better with nvidia.

My PC Specs: (expand to view)

Main Gaming Machine

Storage: Intel 665p 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD (x2)
Video Card: Zotac RTX 3070 8 GB GAMING Twin Edge OC

Power Supply: Corsair RM850 850W

I heard Asus boards are not so good with higher speed ram, is that true? Or is it all just plug and play?

Well, I already have 360mm rad from oc'ing the A10. Are you saying it's not good for 5600G? Or overkill? Might get a new case, but for now it's what I've got. I would like multimedia bay and more hard drive slots, "2.5 and "3.5 though. I do Photoshop and video editing with Shotcut

I didn't read the post well enough to realize you already had it. It should be fine, I would just consider it massively overkill haha.

1080ti is a ripoff for $250, instead I would get an rx6700 non-xt used.

Then I would get a $70 32gb kit of ram
