need help for big upgrade

Hi, I want to do a big upgrade to my pc.

i want to have a few parts i can use again.

parts i am reusing

cpu (ryzen 7 5700g)

nvidia 3060ti founders editon

2 drives(m.2 ssd + hdd)

 

the pc i have has pretty bad cooling and doesnt look good. i want to change that.

parts i want to buy new

mobo: gigabyte b550 aorus pro ac( do I need to update bios for this or not?)

ram: corsair vengeance pro 3600mhz c18 (2x16)

case: corsair 4000d( for exhaust fan i will be using the stock fan but front intake i will use 3 corsair ll120 fans)

psu: corsair rm 650x gold \

cooler: arctic freezer 34 esports duo

 

is this a good combo? ( is there a way to make this a little cheaper?)

 

ps, i have hear that that can be problems when reusing drives for new hardware, is this something i should worry about?

its a b550 but its a green circuit board and the ram only goes up to 3200 mhz

You don't need 3600MHz RAM.  Do you already have the 3200? If so, keep it.  It's just fine.  

 

If you want a new motherboard for aesthetics, I dig that.  But you only have a 5700g, so you don't need to pay for faster RAM.

the problem with my ram is that it is single channel 16gb. and sometimes i have almost 100 percent ram usage. would you recommend going with just 3200mhz 32 gig dualchannel?

that motherboard is good, it has bios flashback so if you do end up needing to switch the bios it should be easy.
For your ram i would instead go with 4x8 kit same speed (possibly CL16 if you can) this way you can get a performance increase by having all 4 slots filled (16gb sticks dont have this feature)
Im not the largest fan of the 4000D airflow, It tends to be an expensive case and there are better cases for cheaper which come with preinstalled fans.

You could go for a cheap 240 AIO for 20usd more instead of Esports Duo, although for the case i chose aio's are not supported. In such case i would go for this Cooler and this Case.

Are HP cpu's vendor locked and can I use my old ssd and hdd or do i need to buy new ones

No, it's Intel's CPU. Not HP's.  So they cannot lock it.

 

Yes, you can use your SSD and HDD.  Though I would recommend moving off HDD's for anything but pics and movies.  It's 2023 damn near

You'll need to download the Motherboard drivers and GPU drivers, but that won't be an issue.

 

I'd personally re-install Windows and format the boot drive at least.

+1 to reformat and reinstall windows

 

keep your data on the other drive and in the cloud.  double check that you have the setting files you want.  eg - my game progress syncs from the cloud, but i have to manually make backups of settings files... like keybinds etc.  just make sure you put things like that in your sync folders and/or on your data drive BEFORE you reformat the OS drive

Ive made some changes to my list, can any1 give his opninion on it.

Question: what does memory storage capacity mean?

for gpu i will be using my 3060ti founders edition

 

Psu : rm750watt corsair modular 

Ram: Corsair vengeance rgp pro 2x16 ( 3600 or 3200 i am still thnking about that)

Motherboard: B550 aorus elite( do i need to do any updates for bios to pair it with the 5700g or 5800x)

Cpu cooler: Right now i dont really know which one i should pick so if i can have help with it. (id rather have aircooling bcs i am not very experienced in building pc's)

Case: 4000x(good cooling capabilities and big case so it can fit bigger gpus in future)

Fans: it comes with 3 corsair rgb intake fans and for the exhaust i will be using a Noctua NF F12

Storage: 970 evo plus 2tb

 

Together this is 769.24 euros

 

I am also thinking about upgrading my cpu

Cpu: Ryzen 7 5800x

 

With the cpu its 1060.48 euros

 

I think i need a wifi card because the motherboard doesnt have wifi. which one should I use
