Wattage wise it's fine. I'd be concerned about the PSU itself though, I've only ever seen 80+ white on incredibly low-end units, wouldn't want to trust one with a 2070.

Hi, just to ask if 600w is enough for rtx 2070 planning to upgrade my 3 years old Rx 580 this holiday and I'm currently using Silverstone 80plus white 600w with current upgrade h510 mobo with i5 11400 it's enough or should I upgrade the psu as well?  Tia

The two GPUs have very similar power draws so that won't be an issue. How old is that PSU? HAve you ever had any weird behavior from it before? It'll likely be fine, but you may want to set aside some cash in case that PSU shows its quality or age. I couldn't find any reviews that match the PSU you described

Doesn't rx580 have higher tdp than rtx 2070?

TPU lists the RX 580 as 185W and the 2070 as 175W so it's a wash, but AIB versions may draw more obviously

PCpartpicker shows the total power consumption of your CPU + MOBO + the 2070 for a full system with SSD and HDD at 364 Watts. So your 600Watt should be plenty.

Silverstone is a decent brand, so I doubt you will have any issues.

You can always try. The worst that can happen is that the PSU will not deliver enough power, and the system would shut down / crash under load. You can always upgrade your PSU after the fact.

Good luck!

So it will only actually deliver 80% of that 600 Watt to the components, or 480 watts.

WTF, no!! A 600w PSU can deliver 600w to the components and with an efficency of 80% it draws 750w from the wallsocket.

It's not about the brand, it's about what's inside the box. What platform is used in the PSU, topology, quality, voltage regulation, quality of the cables and connectors, input filtering, protections. Your Silverstone 600w 80+ White is a cheap, low quality, groupregulated unit with bad voltage regulation, missing protections and (I guess) it's 230v only.  Not a unit I would use with any GPU that draws over 75w.

You are correct, my bad.

Still though, his PSU should be totally fine. The components mentioned are way below the power output of the PSU.
