I currently have an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G15 GA502D but Im looking for an upgrade. I am quite out of touch with what specs are good now and at what price points so I need some help. Im looking for something with very good battery life, good display (hopefully atleast 120hz aswell) and a good (portable and nice looking) exterior.

The main use cases for the laptop would mainly be programming and some light gaming (Stuff like Football Manager, Civ, etc). My budget it around 1000GBP but hopefully theres something lower, and hopefully black friday can offer good prices. Iv been thinking about mainly a macbook since Iv seen loads of people using it for programming and some of the latest ones dont seem that bad but im unsure if its worth the switch compared to other options out there.

Would also be a massive bonus if it can run quiet other than when games are running on it (Like almost no fan noise when some browser tabs and obsidian/other software are open - my current laptop can take off at any moment when I open something)

Thank you in advance.

You can't get a laptop that is more powerful than your current one for £1000. You could get an M1 MacBook Air, it is very well constructed and has a great screen, keyboard, trackpad, speakers, and battery life and it doesn't have any fans so it'll be silent, you may have issues with compatibility with games, but it should be a great programming laptop. When you'd want to game or do something very intensive you can use your old laptop, it is still a good gaming laptop.

I agree what is said here. If you want to up your budget, here are some good Lenovo laptops that can get everything you need done. I have the list filtered to 16gb ram and included graphics card.

You can pick and choose whether or not DDR5 ram is worth the price for you, along with the price of a better graphics card and processor.

Just to confirm, mine is the Ryzen 7 3750H + GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q 6GB model, is there really no better one at the moment for that price point?

Maybe you'll find an equivalent one, but you definitely won't get one with a good screen, battery life and construction. The Macbook can be used as a thin and light laptop, and when you need a lot of performance you can use your old one.
