Got a 5900x Offer

Hey there! i got an offer for this components 

 

AMD AM4 ASUS Rog Strix B450-F Gaming II 
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X Noctua Luftkühler
2 x 32 GB Crucial Ballistics BL2K BL2K32G32C16U4W

 

For round abound 470 USD, it would replace my current 

 

i5 8600k 

Asus Prime Z370 A 

16 GB Ram 

 

and would work togher with an 3080 10 gb. 

 

I actually only play flight simulator on the VatSim network and actually only hope for smoother gameplay (25 fps on landing is just too little)

the 64gb isnt exactly cheap its like half the cost of that bundle when bought new iirc but do keep in mind atleast half of that 64gb is useless since unless you do productivity work youll likely not even use 32gb, there is ~20% extra bandwidth benifit with a dual rank config but thatll likely not be noticable, the ics are decent ocers but ryzen imc dont go fast with dual rank so capped at a measly 4200 (ics capable somewhere ~4800 but this is just pain territory when it comes to ram oc which is in general just pain)

 

5900x is also a good snag when it prob costs almost as much as the whole bundle new

 

The b450 should handle the 5900x just fine so no worries here (vrms max temp likely somewhere ~115c, though under 90c is prefferable)

I’m flying in the PMDG 737 from Liege to Leipzig and must confess that I have from time to time 99% CPU utilization but then also often lie at 60 to 80. However, especially in complex scenarios, the frame rate goes down sharply.

Would you spend the money to take the parts, leave the system as it is or suggest a completely different configuration?

 

I am really at a loss and would appreciate a few tips.

I would take the parts, sell the RAM, and buy a 16gb or 32gb kit.
