Hello everyone! I come here to ask because I know you guys know all things about tech and I need some help
I bought my current PC on december 2021 and while I might not have the money or the need for an upgrade yet I wonder, what would my priority be for upgrading my PC?

Budget (including currency): 300-400 usd (Im from argentina but the possible budget would be around that amount I guess)

Country: Argentina

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Light gaming with occasional graphic intensive gaming (porbably csgo and rocket league most of the time, im not a hardcore gamer)

Other details I might not want to update right now, but I know at some point in the following months I might want to and I have no idea what to upgrade first

I currently have a Ryzen 5 1600, 16gb ram and a Gtx1050 2gb vram.
I want either a new monitor (for a total of 2), a new graphics card or possibly upgrading the processor? The problem is that I cant help but think that the ryzen 5 1600 is "underpowered" and that the 1050 wouldn't be able to handle 2 monitors while gaming some of the more intensive stuff. So what should I upgrade first?

I think there needs to be multiple upgrades, not just one part.

Is Argentina not using Pesos anymore? pcpartpicker for Argentine uses dollar, idk which dollar, maybe USD.

Assuming you already have a 1080p monitor and If the currency in pcpartpicker is USD, my advice would be first upgrade the GPU, maybe RX 6600 (or find used ones) because at least the there's a chance that the CPU could keep up with the GPU for those very light games. Also you'd want at least 450W PSU, if you don't already have that, then you really need to find used GPUs and a new PSU.

Next up (if the CPU could keep up with the GPU), monitor, decent 24" 1080p 60hz monitor is not that expensive.

Then CPU, ryzen 3600 or 5600 depending on availability and price.

Occassionaly visits the forum when I have nothing to do at work.

You likely won't game on 2 monitors at the same time, but yeah, the 1050 won't cut it for that.

You can run the second monitor with a browser / twitch / discord, etc, and it won't really affect game performance.  (Find a cheap 1080p used monitor for this, since it's not gaming, it doesn't need to be very good.)

I'd upgrade the 1050 first.  Look for a used GPU, like an rx 570/580 or a GTX 1660 or RTX 2060.   And 8GB 580 goes for ~100-125$ USD used, and a 1660 can be ~150$ USD.

Third:  What motherboard do you have?  You can potentially upgrade your CPU to something much newer (A used 3600 or something can be cheap) and likely works in your motherboard.

yeah probably would use the second monitor with the browser discord or spotify, was thinking that since its something light it wouldn't affect much
I currently have a 1920x1080 60hz 22" samsung monitor so if I were to upgrade i'd buy something a bit bigger maybe, dont care much about higher res or sizes over 23 I guess
I have a asus prime A320M-K amd socket AM4, on the front of the box it says AMD RYZEN 3000 DESKTOP READY but on the back it says 1st/2nd gen Ryzen so no idea, CPU compatibility is not my area

yes we use pesos argentinos and if you care I would have like 50-60k and apparently the cost of a GTX1650 is around that, I haven't checked much the prices
I have a 650W 80+ white psu, a bit generic but it doesn't look so bad, its a cougar xtc something
not sure about the CPU since I have to check my motherboard for compatibility and I dont think I have thebudget for more than a single upgrade so not buying a new motherboard

Thanks to you both for your quick replies and your help

That board probably has a BIOS update waiting and would likely support Ryzen 5000 chips.

But 3000 will be cheaper (especially if you find someone who upgraded from it to a 5000 series.)

Oh nice, I was expecting that the upgrade would only reach up to the next (2nd) gen (doesnt it work that way with intel cpus too?)
so assuming I could upgrade to a 3000 in what order would you recommend the upgrades?

I'd find a cheap monitor, if you want two screens.  You can probably find a used 1080 22" screen super cheap if you look a little.

Then pick either the CPU or GPU.  Honestly the GPU is holding you back more than the CPU, but see what prices are like.
