CPU Pricing

Does anyone know if and when CPU prices will finally drop? About a month ago the 5800X was as low as ~£235 but has been at £285 for the past couple of weeks.. Will prices drop more when Intel releases? If anything the price seems to be going up…

Highly doubt prices will drop any further other than leftover stock, for which there shouldn't be much anyway if AMD and the seller did everything right.

Prices are often the lowest right before the next gen announcement is more of a gamble for everyone, as a seller to quickly sell stock just in case the next model is the next big thing and if it isn't, then the prices can go back up again.

 

As predicted, AMD isn't going competitive with pricing nor are they willing to cannibalise their own market share of older products, sellers have no reason to keep prices so low for now.
