I'm finally looking at getting a new rig, i've listed the GPU at the 4080 ( FE )16GB price. CPU is still open but i'm aiming for i5 12600 if 13th gen isn't much of a upgrade. I've already got 2 m.2's at a total capacity of 4TB so that's not a issue.

1. Budget & Location

£3000

2. Aim

I will be mostly gaming on this, so Cyberpunk etc, won't be doing any video editing and will not be hosting plex on it.

3. Monitors

Just the one that i've listed in the link, have 2 monitor's at work and it bugs me too much having them at home too

4. Peripherals

Keyboard and mouse i've pretty much got fixed in but open to options

5. Why are you upgrading?

Currently have a PC that i built 6/7 years ago

The memory is pretty expensive. Did you research performance difference between C14 / C16 / C18?

The U12S is more suited for smaller cases, U14S would make more for about the same price.

The R5 case is a pretty old model, why not the recent Define 7?

Main reason I chose 32GB is because it's a difference of £70 iirc ( sorry on my phone and can't check atm ) so for that little amount its worth it.

Changed the CPU cooler to the one you suggested but changed the case to Fractal Design Meshify S2. decided against the Define 7 as the front of the case doesn't allow much in the case of air flow

Just hang fire for a couple of weeks, as Raptor Lake is due out on the 20th of this month. With a £3000 budget you will have plenty of options.

Also as mentioned above, that Ram is expensive. I wouldn't expect to pay more than £150 for 32GB DDR4 RGB Ram.

I would get a nice mechanical keyboard as well.

Changed RAM and ignore the GPU as i'm changing it to a 4080 as stated initially. That's what im going to do Lee, if Raptorlake isn't worth waiting for when they finally release the benchmarks i'm going to stick with the i5 12600.
