HyperX stinger not detected

My hyperX cloud stinger headset is plugged in, so it should be coming up here, but my pc is not detecting it at all. the jacks are tightly plugged into the correct slots, and I've tried moving them around, this is a completely brand-new headset, so it has to be a problem with this computer. Does anyone have any ideas?

Your computer can't recognize headphones since its technically an analog device unless its usb maybe. However it can recognize the audio controller which is what you should be looking at.

i should check the audio controller you're saying? I'm not sure what that is so could you walk me through how to do that

You're already there. It will always be under "sound, video and game controllers"

it isn't showing up here either, it completely just doesn't exist to my pc. i recently reset my entire pc to see if it was just a weird software issue but nope, this headset is just permanently undetectable. 

No, mine is different, the schiit unison modius es is an external dac that i have, you dont have it. are you getting sound from your headphones, if so then its already doing what its supposed to.

Your sound controller is the nvidia sound dac coming from your monitor i assume.

nope no audio, all sound just plays through the pc since i can't select my headset in settings because it doesn't exist as a device, thats why im so worried about getting it detected by my pc

What motherboard do you have? Go to their website and install the drivers for your audio controller

i have PRIME H310M-E motherboard, what website for that? im fairly certain that i have my audio drivers updated but I'll give it a try

Do you plug your headset into the front panel or the rear? Maybe your front panel jacks aren't connected. Or you disabled the onboard sound card in the bios. Or you don't have the audio drivers.

Try plugging the headset wherever your speakers are connected to. That should work

i have no idea where my speakers would be plugged in to, i wasnt even aware that i had them plugged in. so where would they be?

Do you have speakers? I mean, are you using a TV over HDMI perhaps?

those devices are my pc screens, both of them play audio outload if you know what i mean
