appdata keep data of uninstalled programs

why does this happen
i looked in this folder and found that there is data for a couple of games and programs i have uninstalled a long time ago
so ive deleted these folders and was able to free up just over a gb of space
 

so every time i uninstall something i need to also delete  the data in appdata?

Some programs do this so your settings and configuration will still be there if you ever reinstall the program again. It depends on the program,  various programs leave behind various things. Some programs are nice enough to give you the option of deleting this junk.
